Clonakilty Distillery is owned by the Scully family and is situated on the family farm in County Cork.

The distillery began distilling in early 2019 with Paul Corbett (formerly Teeling Whiskey Company) as Master Distiller. The family-owned company now offers several Clonakilty whiskeys (blended and single grain) from undisclosed Irish distilleries. Their biggest success to date is the Clonakilty Double Oak Finish, which is blended from ex-bourbon barrels and finished in virgin American oak and reclaimed and re-charred Bordeaux wine barrels (European oak). It won a gold medal in the Irish blended whiskey category at the 2019 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

Nose : freshly cut grass, vanilla, caramel, apples, pears, nectarines, lemon pepper, cloves, a touch of cinnamon, notes of leather and oak.

Palate : sweet and spicy, vanilla, honey, toffee apples, sugared almonds, pepper, ginger, cinnamon, oak tannins and a hint of hay.

Finish : quite long, with notes of vanilla, honey, hazelnuts, pepper, cinnamon and oak tannins.
