Product description
Wigtown-based Bladnoch Distillery has been producing whisky since 1817, with few successive owners having had much luck.
In 2014, it seemed that, by virtue of a court decision, this would be the only Scottish distillery whose history would end during the ongoing whisky boom. However, a year later, its lucky buyer was Australian businessman David Prior, who had previously sold his thriving dairy company. After less than two years of renovation work, the plant equipped with two pairs of stills resumed distilling in May 2017 under the supervision of Ian MacMillan, previously Burn Stewart's master distiller. In its first year, it produced around 400,000 litres of distillate. Two years later, production increased to 600,000 litres, and currently stands at 1.5 million litres, or 100% of production capacity. The Bladnoch presented here is a distillate straight from the still, bottled at 63.5% abv.
