Product description
In 1830 Samuel Gelston founded a wine and spirits distribution business in Belfast.
Soon, his creation, Gelston's Old Irish Whiskey, debuted and gained considerable popularity. After Gelston's death in 1869, the company was purchased by Harry J. Neill, a whiskey enthusiast who had made his fortune in Australia during the gold rush there. Five generations later, the Gelston brand still belongs to the Neill family, specifically to HJ Neill Ltd. Currently, Samuel Gelston's brand includes single malt, single pot still and blended whiskeys. The latter is made from triple-distilled malt and grain whiskeys aged in bourbon barrels, most likely from West Cor Distillers. In 2021, it won a silver medal in its class at the World Spirits Competition in San Francisco.
