Cù Bòcan is a slightly smoky and peaty version of the single malt Tomatin, produced from barley malt with a phenol concentration of 15 ppm.
It debuted in October 2013 and was immediately included in the core range. Its name refers to the legendary hellhound that has plagued the inhabitants of the village of Tomatin for centuries. Cù Bòcan is composed of distillates aged in bourbon, sherry and virgin oak barrels, bottled without chill filtration at 46% alcohol and without an age statement.
Nose: sweet and slightly smoky, oranges, grapefruits, bananas, vanilla, a bit of ginger, anise and coriander.
Taste: mild, malty and smoky, banana cake, honey-roasted almonds, ginger, cloves, aniseed and a delicate note of oak.
Finish : medium long, spicy with a lingering delicate smoky note.
