Product description
In 2005, Arran Distillery celebrated its tenth anniversary.
Its construction began in 1993 (when Scotch whisky was still waiting for better times), and the first drops of distillate flowed from the stills on June 29, 1995. The driving force behind the project was Harold Currie, previously one of the directors of Chivas Bros., who in order to raise funds for the construction issued 2,000 bonds exchangeable in the future for the single malt Arran. It debuted in 1998 and over the years won a crowd of admirers. The whisky presented here, distilled on the day distillation began, was aged in sherry butt casks and bottled in September 2005 to celebrate the tenth anniversary. The edition consisted of 1,200 hand-signed bottles.
