Glenmorangie whisky has been available since the 1920s and we can venture to say that the 10-year-old version.
One of the most popular in its category, it found buyers long before World War II and remains an excellent introduction to the distillery's rich offering. The 10-year-old presented here is different from the current edition, however - distilled in 1992 and bottled at 57% abv (100 British Proof) for the Japanese market - it is an extraordinary attraction for any Glenmorangie whisky collector. Other Glenmorangie editions offered in the past at similar strengths include 10 years old 100 Proof, Traditional 100 Proof and Astar.
Nose: floral-grassy, hay barn, summer meadow, vanilla, honey, orange peel, peaches, walnuts, oak and a subtle hint of peat.
Palate: fresh, slightly malty, vanilla cream, caramel, milk fudge, cooked apples and pears, orange jam, lemongrass, a pinch of salt and toasted oak.
Finish: long, with notes of vanilla, toffee, orange, pink grapefruit, roasted nuts, a pinch of cinnamon and oak.
