Product description
The Meyer distillery is located in the Alsace village of Hohwarth. It was founded in 1958 and originally produced fruit brandies and liqueurs.
It was not until the beginning of the new century that Jean-Claude Meyer, the founder's son, tried making whisky. It debuted in 2007. The company currently produces a single malt whisky, Meyer's Pure Malt, and the blend presented here, Meyer's le Whisky Artisanal. The latter is a blend of malt and grain distillates aged in sweet wine barrels, mainly Sauternes. Our bottle comes from a batch finished in Pinot Noir barrels.
Nose: sweet cereals, maple syrup, mirabelle jam, nectarines, brown sugar, notes of honey and oak.
Taste: honey cereal, vanilla, brown sugar, plums, strawberry compote, eucalyptus drops, croutons and a pinch of cinnamon.
Finish : not too long, with notes of cereal, toast, brown sugar, fruit marmalade and a pinch of pepper.
