Product description
Auchentoshan Distillery was built in 1823 on the outskirts of Glasgow (its buildings are situated between the Kilpatrick Hills and the River Clyde).
This location was once called the "window on the world", which the distillery undoubtedly benefited from. Glasgow owes its period of prosperity to its port and shipyard; it was there that the Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth were built and launched, while ships carrying cotton, tobacco, spices and wines would arrive at the port and sail away with holds full of Scotch whisky. To emphasise the Auchentoshan Distillery's connection with the city, the Lord Provost of Glasgow chose a 21-year-old whisky that reflects the city's inhabitants – "hospitable and warm, and therefore unforgettable".
