Product description
The Huichole are an ethnic group of Mexican Indians living in the mountainous areas of central Mexico. They call themselves Wixáritari, which means “people” in their native language. The fact that they first came into contact with Western civilization in the late 18th century has allowed them to maintain an extraordinary, one-of-a-kind tradition, religion and art. The Dictador brand has decided to bring elements of this extraordinary culture closer to us by offering a series of unique bottles, hand-decorated by artists descended from the Wixáritari people.
The Wixárika series is an extremely exclusive, limited edition of rums, presented in bottles, each one a work of art in itself. Ten of the most talented artists of the Wixáritari people were contacted and asked to create traditional ornaments, one bottle at a time. Each one was used on 25 bottles, ultimately limiting the entire series to just 250 extraordinary bottles of rum.
Dictador Wixárika 1980 is a vintage rum, aged for 39 years in American oak barrels that previously held Spanish fortified sherry wine. Bottled without dilution, straight from the barrel.
