Product description
Johnnie Walker has led Scotch whisky sales statistics for years, closing 2021 with sales of 19.2 million cases.
The company was founded in 1820 by John Walker, but it was not until his son Alexander in 1865 that he focused on whisky and soon his first blends debuted: Old Highland Whisky (White Label), Special Old Highland Whisky (red label) and Extra Special Highland Whisky (black label). White Label did not conquer the market and was soon withdrawn from the offer, while the other two, christened by consumers Red Label and Black Label, are still breaking records of success. The Red Label formula lists about 35 components aged for no less than three years, the most important of which are Cardhu, Dailuaine, Glenlossie and Glendullan and Cameronbridge single grain.
Nose: roasted cereal grains, toffee, vanilla, unripe apples, shelled nuts, wax, oak chips and a trace of ash.
Palate : milk fudge, brown sugar, cereals, green apples, white pepper, a pinch of cinnamon and anise and a light bitterness of oak.
Finish: medium long, with notes of cereal, caramel, pepper, dried herbs and oak.
