Product description
Fettercairn Distillery is based in the Eastern Highlands in the town with which it shares its name.
It has been producing whisky since 1824, and since 1973 it has been owned by Whyte & Mackay, whose assets were acquired in 2014 by Filipino brandy producer Emperador Inc. Current production is 2.2 million liters of alcohol per year, the lion's share of which is consumed by Whyte & Mackay blends. The single cask version presented here is Douglas Laing & Co.'s proposal in the Single Minded series from December 2019. Distilled in January 2009, the whisky spent over 10 years in a refilled hogshead cask, the contents of which translated into 392 bottles. The Single Minded line, a creation of Fred Laing, debuted after the division of Douglas Laing & Co.'s assets between Fred and his brother Stewart in 2013.
