The Links series debuted in 2003 and remained in the offer for the next several years.
The labels, as well as the metal case, featured Graham W. Baxter's illustrations of famous golf courses. Bruichladdich St. Andrews the Old Course was released in 2003 and featured a 14-year-old whisky aged in refill Spanish oak barrels. The original release was 12,000 bottles. The St. Andrews Swilcan Burn 16 years old presented here was released about two years later (October 2005). This time, only 7,800 half-litre bottles were released.
Aroma: fruity with a pinch of sea salt, apples, peaches, freshly cut grass, vanilla, honey, white pepper, traces of eucalyptus and peat.
Palate: sweet with a subtle spiciness, vanilla, toffee, apples, grapes, nectarines, white pepper, licorice, a pinch of sea salt and a touch of peat.
Finish: medium long, with notes of vanilla, sea salt, pepper, summer fruits, traces of peat and oak.
