Product description
For over a century, Mortlach single malt has been associated with Johnnie Walker blends. In 1923, the Walker family purchased the distillery and made Mortlach a key malt in the Black Label formula. The distillery was still distilling during World War II, and Mortlach vintages from the 1940s are among the most collectible whiskies. Today, the distillery is owned by Diageo and, with seven stills, can produce 3.8 million litres a year. Mortlach is increasingly featured in independent publishers' offerings; the one presented here was distilled in February 2008 and aged for 12 years in a sherry hogshead cask no. DL 13905. Bottled by Douglas Laing & Co. in March 2020 in the Old Particular series in an edition of 452 half-litre bottles.
