Product description
Jura Distillery, separated from the Isle of Islay by a narrow strait, actively participates in the annual Music and Whisky Festival held at the turn of May and June.
One of the attractions of the event is the occasional limited edition of whisky. Jura Tastival, 2017 edition, is a whisky aged in ex-bourbon barrels and finished in equal parts ex-port barrels and fresh ex-bourbon barrels, then blended. It was the first creation of the distillery's new manager, Graham Logan, who took over after Willie Cochrane retired. The whisky was bottled without chill filtration, in an edition limited to 12,000 bottles.
Aroma: honeycomb, caramel, toffee, raisins, blackcurrants, oranges, pineapples, nutmeg, cinnamon and a hint of licorice.
Taste : sweet and spicy, caramel, golden syrup, vanilla cream, milk chocolate, red berries, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice and a touch of tobacco.
Finish: quite long, with notes of raisins, bitter orange jam, nutmeg, licorice and oak.
