Product description
The Château du Breuil estate, founded in the 15th century, is located on the Pays d'Auge plain, famous for its cool climate.
The climate is conducive to the growth of apples with an exceptionally rich flavor. The first mentions of alcohol production on the estate date back to the 16th century. When Philippe Bizouard purchased the estate in 1954, he decided to modernize production. According to the producer, the time from the moment of obtaining the juice from the apples to the beginning of its fermentation is crucial to the production of the highest quality Calvados. To obtain a liter of alcohol, the producer uses about 25 kilograms of apples. The production potential is estimated at 400 thousand liters per year. The distillate matured in oak barrels for 8 years. The ideal drink to serve as Le trou normand, a typical break for digestif between meals. It works surprisingly well for mixing in drinks, e.g. with tonic and apple slices.
