Auchentoshan 10-year-old (Bottled 1990s) / 43%/ 1.0l
- Auchentoshan is the only Scottish distillery doing 100% of triple distillation (a fraction of Springbank spirit, roughly 15,000 liters a year designated for the Hazelburn brand, is also distilled three times).
Product description
Auchentoshan is today the only Scottish distillery where every drop of spirit is triple distilled (a small part of Springbank bottled as Hazelburn, around 15,000 litres per year, is also the result of triple distillation).
The 10-year-old was the distillery's signature for over a quarter of a century, replaced in 2008 by the 12-year-old. Most of the whisky was aged in bourbon barrels, with a small addition of sherry barrels. The bottle presented here dates from the 1990s, when the distillery used kite-shaped labels. Auchentoshan Distillery is now owned by Beam Suntory, and annual sales of the local single malt exceed 1.4 million bottles (2017).
