Although global sales have recently fallen somewhat, nearly 3.5 million bottles of Glen Granta are still sold each year. The brand has an extremely strong position in Italy, where its leadership position has long been unchallenged. The 10-year-old version presented here was bottled by Seagram for an Italian importer, most likely in the 1980s. At that time, the term pure malt was synonymous with single malt , and since November 2009, it has been prohibited from being used on Scotch whisky labels.

Aroma : mild, fruity and malty with subtle notes of sherry, apple, plum, orange, a trace of cinnamon and vanilla and a distant hint of smoke.

Taste : fruity and nutty with noticeable notes of malt, apples, gooseberries, dried plums, raisins, vanilla, traces of sherry and a delicate bitterness of oak.

Finish : medium long with notes of sherry, nutty, with the spicy and oaky side taking over in the end.
