Product description
Kimerud (Norwegian for "mountainside") is a small family distillery built on a farm of the same name that has been operating since 1785.
It is located about 30 km west of Oslo, in the village of Tranby. The exceptionally clean air and rich soil are conducive to the cultivation of herbs and berries. Most of the 22 botanicals used in the gin formula are grown organically on the farm, and after harvest they are stored in special glass cylinders to ensure freshness and high quality. Kimerud Gin is produced on the basis of five times distilled spirit from potatoes and the aforementioned 22 botanicals. We do not know the full list, although they certainly include juniper berries, lemon and orange peel, coriander, ginger, angelica root, walnuts, mint and rhodiola rosea. Since its debut in 2014, Kimerud Gin has won a number of awards and distinctions, including a gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirit Competition in 2017. Kimerud Small Batch Gin is currently bottled at 40% alcohol, while the 47% version is called Wild Grade Small Batch.
Kimerud Wild Grade Small Batch Gin has a perfectly balanced aromatic bouquet, juniper, a basket of fresh herbs, rose petals and citrus. In the palette a combination of floral and pleasantly spicy notes, juniper, pine needles, citrus, ginger and a pinch of white pepper. We recommend serving with Thomas Henry tonic (e.g. Elderflower), with a slice of lime.
