Product description
Old St. Andrews whiskey debuted in 1970, presented in golf ball-shaped bottles.
Originally intended exclusively for export, its popularity grew significantly in the mid-1980s thanks to Denis Thatcher, husband of Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, who was photographed several times with a 50ml bottle of the whisky. Marketing of Old St. Andrews whisky is of course based on its presentation; it is often an addition to golf tournament prizes. Recently, the company has changed the packaging a bit, in the current shape of the bottle is much more prominent. The current Old St. Andrews whisky range includes three blended malts and a Clubhouse Blended whisky. Twilight Blended Malt, described as "fresh and delicate", is paired with malt whiskies aged in American white oak barrels for 10 years.
