Product description
The Blair Athol Distillery was built in 1798 by John Stewart and Robert Robertson.
Until 1825, the distillery operated as the Aldour Distillery (named after the nearby Allt Dour stream). Arthur Bell & Sons took over the defunct plant in 1933, but it was a long 16 years before distilling resumed. Blair Athol is a key component of Bell's blends, and single malt releases are relatively rare. In 1998, the distillery celebrated its 200th anniversary, commemorated by the limited edition Bicentenary (1,200 bottles) presented here. The whisky was aged in sherry casks for 18 years and bottled at cask strength (56.7% abv).
