Product description
The Clan Denny series debuted at the beginning of the new century, offering old single grain whiskies. Distributed by Hunter Hamilton & Co., a subsidiary of Douglas Laing & Co., owned by brothers Stewart and Fred Laing.
In 2013, the brothers split up and divided the assets of the company. The latest editions of Clan Denny include single grain whiskies, single malts and blended malts, and their marketing is the domain of Douglas McGibbon & Co., another subsidiary of Douglas Laing & Co., now owned solely by Fred. The Craigellachie presented here was distilled in January 2007 and aged in a refill hogshead cask (DMG no. 12063). Bottled in August 2017 at 48% abv and without chill filtration in an edition of 382 bottles.
Aroma: malty and fruity, slightly floral, freshly baked bread, apples, gooseberries, lemon peel, cut grass and a bit of oak.
Taste : fruity with a light grassy note, green apples, pears, greengages, lemon tart, a touch of vanilla and pepper.
Finish: medium long, with notes of barley malt, lemon peel, apples, vanilla, pepper and oak.
