In 2016, the Parisian company La Maison du Whisky celebrated its 60th anniversary. The company was founded in 1956 by Georges Bénitah, who quickly made it the leader in the French whisky market.
To commemorate 60 years of business, the owners of La Maison du Whisky have prepared 150 commemorative editions of spirits from around the world. The one presented here comes from the Dalmore distillery and its author is the legendary blender Richard Paterson. The whisky distilled in 1995 was aged in American oak barrels and finished in a Sauternes cask no. 4. Bottled at a natural alcohol content of 53% in a limited edition of 290 bottles.
Aroma: rich, delicately floral, spring meadow, pineapples, pears, apricots, sultanas, milk chocolate, honey, oak, a touch of pepper and cinnamon.
Palate : strong fruity notes, grapes, cantaloupe, apricots, strawberries, vanilla cream, honey, sweet cereals, licorice, cappuccino and a hint of pipe tobacco.
Finish : long, oranges, honeydew melon, milk chocolate, vanilla, delicate oak and herbal notes.
