- It looks like the 2016 was a new milestone in short history of Arran Distillery.
Product description
The year 2016 marked a turning point in the history of Arran Distillery.
In addition to installing an additional pair of stills, which will increase distillation capacity to 1.2 million litres per year, the owners have applied for planning permission to build a new distillery on the south side of the island, where the Lagg Distillery operated a hundred years ago. In the meantime, Arran is offering new versions of its single malt, including The Bothy, a small batch whisky aged in bourbon barrels and finished in quarter casks. Here we present The Bothy Batch #2 from 2016, bottled at cask strength (55.2% abv) in an edition limited to 12,000 bottles.
Nose : fresh, malty, vanilla, caramel, sugar cookies, apples, grapes, orange peel, white chocolate, traces of grass and oak.
Palate : sweet breakfast cereal, vanilla, crème brûlée, apples, gooseberries, grapes, lemongrass, candied ginger and a pinch of salt.
Finish : medium long, with notes of vanilla, sweet biscuits and orchard fruit.
