It looks like the 2016 was a new milestone in short history of Arran Distillery. Firstly, two new stills have been installed increasing the distilling capacity to 1.2 million liters of spirit per annum; secondly, in May the owners registered a building application for the new distillery, which will be built in Lagg, on the Southern part of the island. (The original Lagg Distillery ceased operation in 1837.) Meanwhile Arran Distillery have been introducing new bottlings. First batch of The Bothy was launched in September 2015, a cask strength, small batch whisky aged in ex-bourbon barrels and finished in quarter casks. Here we have batch no. 2 from 2016 with slightly lower abv and the same outturn of 12000 bottles.
