The Craignure 10-year-old / 40%/ 0.7l/
- The Craignure is one of the five mysterious whiskies released by Invergordon Distillers in their Malts of Scotland range.
Product description
The Craignure is one of five whiskies that make up Invergordon Distillers' mysterious Malts of Scotland series.
Like other editions, such as Ferintosh and Druichan, the company does not disclose the source of the distillate, only the region. Craignure is a village and ferry port on the Isle of Mull. We know that the single malt bearing its name comes from the island, or is it Mull, the producer has not confirmed this, nor has it denied that the whisky comes from Jura. Perhaps the key to guessing the producer is the fact that the Jura distillery, like Invergordon Distillers, is owned by Whyte & Mackay, but neither of these companies had business ties with Tobermory Distillery on the Isle of Mull. Previous editions of Malts of Scotland were based on whiskies from distilleries associated with Invergordon - we know that behind the Ferintosh brand is Tamnavulin, Glenluig is an alternative version of Dalmore, and Druichan is most likely Bruichladdich. The Craignure 10 years old debuted on the Spanish market and was then distributed in other European Union countries.
