Product description
Jura is one of the phenomena of the 21st century. The distillery resumed distilling in 1963, after a 60-year break.
The single malt Isle of Jura debuted in 1974 to little success, but a close partnership with Whyte & Mackay, a blended whisky producer, kept the distillery afloat. At the turn of the century, Jura had a large quantity of inferior spirits in storage and decided to transfer them to fresh bourbon casks. New editions soon followed, and over the past five years, sales of the brand have increased from 350,000 bottles a year to 1.9 million. The Vintage edition presented here was distilled in 1990, aged in American oak casks and bottled on 2nd June 2005 at 45% abv.
