Hirsch 12-year-old Selection / 43% / 0.75l
- The Hirsch brand, we should say, A.H. Hirsch, was initially associated with bourbon and rye whiskey from Michter's Distillery located in Shaefferstown, Pennsylvania.
Product description
The Hirsch brand, or rather AH Hirsch, originally represented bourbon and rye whiskey from the Michter's distillery in Shaefferstown, Pennsylvania.
Adolf H. Hirsch, one of the heads of the Schenley corporation, bought the stock of the aforementioned distillery in the 1980s and promoted it under the AH Hirsch brand. In the 21st century, his whiskey is one of the most sought-after American spirits. In 2003, the rights to the Hirsch brand were purchased by Californian Preiss Imports, and since 2019, they have belonged to Hotaling & Co., which a year later offered the market a new Hirsch Horizon bourbon. It also announced that it does not plan to renew the Hirsch Selection line. The whiskey presented here is a Canadian blend, about which we know little (Canadian regulations do not prohibit the use of the term "rye whiskey" for blends), bottled for Preiss Imports by Glenora Distillers in Nova Scotia.
