Scapegrace Chorus Limited Release II / 46%/ 0.7l

Scapegrace Distilling Company was founded in 2014 by two amateur musicians from New Zealand (brothers-in-law), Mark Neal and Daniel McLaughlin.

The company was originally called Rogue Society Distilling and produced gin; in 2017, it changed its name because it overlapped with the name of the brewery in Newport. The company is currently building a new distillery, which should be operational in the fall of 2023. A year earlier, in October, it debuted Scapegrace single malt whisky. It was distilled at a contract distillery based on the South Island from locally grown Laureate barley and water flowing down from the New Zealand Alps. The Chorus II presented here was aged in virgin French oak barrels for three years, and the edition consisted of 7,824 bottles.

Aroma: bouquet of wild flowers, orange peel, pears, vanilla, cinnamon, notes of nutmeg and toasted oak.

Taste : ripe apples and pears, grapes, oranges, caramel, vanilla, cinnamon, white pepper and a light bitterness of oak.

Finish : medium long, with notes of orchard fruit, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and oak tannins.
