Dailuaine Distillery lies in the heart of Speyside, between the Glenfarclas and Benrinnes distilleries.
Currently owned by Diageo, it has three pairs of stills and can produce over 5 million distillates per year. Dailuaine has been associated with Johnnie Walker blends for years and official single malt editions are rare. The Dailuaine presented here, distilled in March 2007, spent over 15 years in a sherry butt cask no. DL 15944, and was bottled at 48.4% abv by Douglas Laing & Co. in the Old Particular series in June 2022. The edition consisted of 464 bottles. All whiskies from the Douglas Laing & Co. offer are bottled with a natural color and without chill filtration.
Aroma: red apples, dark grapes, cranberries for meat, milk chocolate, golden syrup, white pepper, notes of allspice and oak.
Taste : honey breakfast cereal, mocha, chocolate raisins, strawberry jam, nougat, cinnamon, a pinch of pepper and cloves and a light bitterness of oak.
Finish: medium long, with notes of milk chocolate, toffee, autumn fruits, a touch of kitchen spices and oak.
