Product description
In 2003 Glengoyne Distillery welcomed a new owner, the privately owned Ian Macleod Distillers.
The most southerly distillery in the Highlands began life in 1833 as Burnfoot Distillery. In 1876 it was acquired by Lang Brothers, who changed its name to Glenguin. It has been operating as Glengoyne since 1907. Glengoyne 25 Year Old debuted in 2014 and is the jewel in the distillery’s crown, undergoing limited releases every year. The spirits used in this 2020 edition were sourced exclusively from sherry casks, mainly first fill.
Nose: rich and elegant, lots of sherry, dried figs and dates, raisins, cocoa powder, cinnamon buns, brown sugar, notes of leather and polished oak.
Palate: complex, strong sherry notes, dark chocolate, multi-berry jam, orange peel, cinnamon, crème brûlée, notes of pipe tobacco and leather.
Finish: very long, fruity and spicy, with notes of dark chocolate, roasted nuts, cinnamon, licorice and tobacco.
