Wemyss Spice King Small Batch Blended Malt / 46%/ 0.7l
- Spice King blended malt was introduced in 2005. The initial 5 years old expression later evolved in 8 years old and finally, due to growing difficulties in sourcing stock of aged whiskies, to the non-age-statement in 2015.
Product description
Blended malt Spice King debuted in 2005. The original 5-year-old was soon replaced by an 8-year-old, with occasional limited releases of a 12-year-old.
In 2015, due to the increasing difficulty of buying properly aged whisky, the company abandoned age editions. The Spice King formula lists 16 whiskies from four regions – Highlands, Lowlands, Speyside and Islay, and its core is Talisker. The Spice King presented here is bottled without an age statement, without chill filtration and with an alcohol content increased to 46%. In autumn 2020, the company changed the presentation of the whisky to a more modern and definitely eye-catching one (the drink remained the same).
