- Penderyn Welsh single malt was launched on St David’s Day, on March 1, 2004, in the presence of HRH Prince Charles (the Prince also opened the Visitor Centre in 2008).

Penderyn single malt debuted on 1 March 2004, the feast day of St David, the patron saint of the Welsh, and the ceremony was attended by Charles, Prince of Wales (the Prince also patronised the opening of the visitor centre four years later).
Over the years, Penderyn whisky has won a number of international awards, both for its taste and its unique presentation. Penderyn Madeira Finish, part of the original range, is aged in first and second fill bourbon barrels (the first fill comes from Buffalo Trace Distillery) and finished for around six months in Madeira barrels. In 2017 and 2018, Penderyn Madeira won the title of best European whisky at the World Whisky Masters competition.
Aroma: fresh, breakfast cereals, toffee, honey, raisins, cherries, peaches, a bit of dry herbs and oak.
Palate : barley malt, toffee, vanilla pudding, butter cookies, cantaloupe, peaches, cinnamon, cloves and a hint of eucalyptus drops.
Finish: medium long, with notes of vanilla, toffee, raisins, a pinch of allspice and oak.
