Product description
The Grouse blended whisky was developed in 1896 by Matthew Gloag, shortly after taking over the family company Matthew Gloag & Son, founded by his grandfather at the beginning of the century.
In 1905, The Grouse's popularity grew to such an extent that its creator decided to add the word "Famous" to the name, and so "The Famous Grouse" was born. Today, the brand has a global reach and is the best-selling blend in its native Scotland. In the early 1970s, it was owned by Highland Distillers, whose assets, including The Famous Grouse whisky, were taken over by the Edrington Group in 1999. It is worth recalling that the formula for this blend lists the finest single malts - Highland Park, Macallan, Glenrothes and Glenturret. The massive 4.5-litre bottle of Famous Grouse presented here is presented on a so-called "cradle".
