Product description
The Glenlivet Distillery seems to be well on its way to winning the title of “Most Mysterious Distillery.”
After the great success of the Alpha (2013) and Cipher (2016) editions, 2018 brought another whisky enigma, Code. All we know about it is that it is a single malt Glenlivet, and no information has been revealed about the year of distillation, the type of casks used for maturation or its length. Alan Winchester, the Glenlivet master distiller, encourages consumers to scan the code on the bottle using the Shazam app and visit the distillery's special website, where they will be able to submit their comments on the whisky's aromatic and flavor palette. At the end of the year, the master will officially "decode" his creation. The whisky is bottled at 48% alcohol and presented in black, opaque bottles.
In our opinion, Code is a very rich whisky full of tropical fruit aromas balanced in the palette by nutmeg, ginger and beautifully woven bitterness of oak.
