Product description
Golden Horse Bushu is a blended whisky from the Toa Shuzo portfolio, a whisky that returned to the market in 2016 after a dozen or so years of absence.
The Toa Shuzo Company was founded in 1625 in Chichibu, and in 1946, the Akuto family moved its headquarters to Hanyu. It was there that they began distilling whisky in the 1980s. Financial problems led to the distillery closing in 2000. While it is highly likely that the original Golden Horse formula contained Hanyu whisky, today's blend is based on distillates imported from Scotland. Although the label mentions Hanyu, we are certain that there is not a drop of whisky from this distillery in the bottle. The current Golden Horse line consists of the Bushu blend presented here and the Musashi blended malt.
Nose: light and fragrant, sweet breakfast cereal, vanilla, caramel, trail mix and a distant breath of the earth.
Palate: delicately floral, oatmeal, vanilla, honey, roasted peanuts, traces of hay and oak shavings.
Finish : not too long, with notes of vanilla, caramel, oak and nuts.
