- Ron Santa Teresa claims to be the oldest rum manufacturer in the Caribbean.
Product description
Ron Santa Teresa is one of the oldest rum producers in the Caribbean.
The Hacienda Santa Teresa sugar cane plantation was established in 1796. Rum began to be produced here in 1826. Both traditional stills and more modern rectification columns are used to produce rum. Maturation takes place in barrels made of American and French oak. Hacienda Santa Teresa was the first rum distillery in the world to use the solera system for aging distillates.
Santa Teresa 1796 Solera Rum is the only rum in the Santa Teresa range that is aged entirely in the solera system. It is said to be blended from distillates aged between 4 and 35 years. The 1796 Edition was released in 1996, to celebrate the company's bicentennial. It is a molasses-based rum distilled in a combination of traditional stills and column stills.
