Product description
George Ballantine died in 1891 and the company passed into the ownership of his son George, who just five years later would receive the Royal Warrant from Queen Victoria.
Undoubtedly, the breakthrough date in the company's history was 1910 and the debut of Ballantine's Finest Blended Whisky, composed of over 50 components. In 1919, George Ballantine sold the company to James Barclay and RA McKinlay, to whom the Ballantine's brand owes its global success. It currently belongs to Chivas Bros., a subsidiary of Pernod Ricard, and with annual sales of almost 7 million cases, it ranks second in the ranking of the most popular Scottish blends. Its key ingredients are Glenburgie, Miltonduff, Glentauchers and Tormore. The huge 4.5-litre bottle of Ballantine's Finest presented here rests on a so-called "cradle".
