Elements of Islay Peat (Full Proof) / 59.3%/ 0.5l

The Elements of Islay, a range of single malt and blended malt whiskies from Specialty Drinks Ltd's portfolio dedicated to the iconic island of Islay, debuted in 2008.

The vast majority of editions are single malts, and only in 2015 they were joined by the blended malt Peat, made from distillates from distilleries located on the north and south coasts of the island. Each batch is a marriage of no more than 60 barrels. Peat is the most characteristic element of single malts from the island of Islay and the whisky presented here, smoky, salty, and at the same time sweet, fully confirms this. The Full Proof version is bottled at 59.3% alcohol and, like all whiskies in this series, without chill filtration and with a natural color.

Aroma: fresh, malty and slightly mineral, lots of peat smoke, ashes of a camping fire, seaweed and shells, lemons, grapefruits, vanilla, ginger and a hint of licorice.

Palate: rich and powerful, peat smoke, smoked ham, vanilla, caramel, licorice, apples, candied lemon peel, pepper, traces of leather and charred oak.

Finish: long and smoky, with notes of vanilla salt, pepper and a delicate fruit sweetness.
