Product description
The Wolf of Badenoch is a single malt whisky distilled at the Speyside Distillery by previous owner Rick Christie, aged for 12 years in traditional oak barrels and finished for six months in French oak barrels.
Previously used to store Prunelle plum liqueur, The Wolf of Badenoch debuted in 2014, two years after Rick Christie sold the distillery to Harvey's of Edinburgh International. The whisky's name is a nod to Alexander Stewart (1343-1405), Duke of Buchan, who set fire to Elgin Cathedral in 1390 and, legend has it, died in disgrace after losing a game of chess to the devil.
Aroma : fruity and floral, summer meadow, sweet dried fruit – plums, apricots, cherries, vanilla, toffee and delicate oak notes.
Palate: sweet, fruity, prunes, mixed berry jam, milkshake, vanilla, sugared almonds, a hint of violets and oak.
Finish: medium long, with notes of sweet cereal, dried plums, black cherries, vanilla and oak.
