Isawa is a whiskey produced in the Monde Shuzou Distillery, situated in Fuefuki City, in the province of Yamanshi. The whiskey was made from barley malt, in traditional pot still distillation. It was composed of spirits matured for at least 10 years in oak casks. Launched in 2012, it is a smooth and light Japanese single malt whiskey.
Nose: Smooth and subtle, with notes of barley malt, oak, citrus fruit, spices, vanilla and caramel.
Palate: Delicate and velvety, with the undertones of lemon rind, malt, vanilla cream, cinnamon, cloves and black tea.
Finish: Medium length, with the undertones of malt, citrus fruit and spices.
