A vintage expression of Nikka malt whisky. It was produced at the Nishinomiya distillery with use of columns stills brought over from Scotland back in 1963. Somewhat unusually, the whisky was made in column stills, but the use of malted barley exclusively. The distillation took place in 2003, followed by the spirit maturing for 11 years in oak casks. The whisky was bottled in 2014 in limited quantity. Bottled at natural strength of 54% ABV.
Nose: Fresh and clear, with the notes of candied lemon peel and spices.
Palate: Sweet, with toffee, coconut, candied fruit and marmalade.
Finish: Medium length, complex. Chocolate with raisins, coconut.
