Bottle No. 206, 208, 211 / 314
Cask No. 06/0093/14
A single cask expression of Edradour aged in oak and finished in Sauternes barrel sourced from the legendary Château d’Yquem estate.
In 2002 Edradour Distillery was purchased by the independent bottling company, Signatory Vintage Ltd. Andrew Symington, the company owner, almost immediately started experimenting with different types of wood. Château d’Yquem produces indisputably the best Sauternes and due to extended barrel aging bottles them 4-5 years after the vintage. During the finishing maturation the Edradour whisky extorted many qualities associated with sweet Sauternes wine.
Nose: rich and slightly winey, apricots, oranges, pears, maple syrup, caramel, vanilla, subtle nutty and floral notes.
Palate: sweet, apricots, tangerines, raisins, honey, milk chocolate, lemon tart, marzipan and crème brûlée.
Finish: fairly long and pleasantly balanced, sweet fruit and hints of spice and oak.
