The Clan Denny is a range of single grain (and recently blended malt) whiskies bottled originally by The Hunter Hamilton Co., subsidiary of Douglas Laing & Co. The origins of the name are little obscured, however the company claims that a Taiwanese businessman wanted to contract them to bottle 30 years old grain whisky under his name. His name was Dennis, and suggestion for the brand name was MacDennis, what didn’t find the Laing brothers approval. They finally settled for Clan Denny. Girvan 1990 Vintage was included into range in 2010. The whisky spent 30 years in ex-bourbon barrel (HH 5794) and was bottled at natural strength of 59.7% abv and without chill filtration.
