An exceptional and rare single malt whisky produced at the Yamazaki distillery, founded in 1923 by Shinjiro Torii. The plant is located amongst most exceptional scenery in Shimamoto, not far from Kyoto. Yamazaki is a pioneer of Japanese malt whisky. When creating his whisky, Torii was inspired by the traditional Scottish art of distillation. Yamazaki Bourbon Barrel is a no-age-statement whisky, whose all components matured exclusively in American oak ex-bourbon casks. The expression was launched in 2011 and was limited to only 1000 bottles.
Nose: Aromatic and perfumy, with heather honey, lemon zest, cinnamon, rose jam and cream custard.
Palate: Tropical fruits, creamy coconut milk, peaches, rum, spices and toasted oak.
Finish: Long, with hazelnuts, chocolate and spices.
