Silver Seal was founded in 2000. Before that it was known as Sestante, which in turn was founded in 1979. Massimo Righi bought the two brands in 2010, after being on search for whisky barrels to supply the label since 2008. The whisky distilled in 1982 was aged for 25 years in ex-sherry butt no. 789. Bottled at natural strength of 63.4% abv in 2007 with an outrun of 601 bottles.
