A highly limited expression of Nikka Takesturu blended malt whisky. Launched on 29th May 2012, there were only 120 bottles that reached the European market. Produced by the Nikka Company. Named after the founder of the brand and the Yoichi distillery, Masataka Taketsuru. It is a composition of spirits from Yoichi distillery on the island of Hokkaido and Miyagikyo distillery on the island of Honshu. The whisky matured for 25 years in ex-sherry casks and Japanese oak casks. It offers fuller and richer flavours than the younger expressions. The flavour offers notes of exotic fruits, nuts and coffee. Offered in a decorative wooden box.
Nose: Full and well-balanced, with vanilla, blood orange, chocolate, cinnamon, spices, sherry and oak.
Palate: Delicate and sweet, with barley notes, honey, flowers, citrus fruits, rosemary, hay, summer meadow, apples, toffee, raisins and some delicate smoke.
Finish: Long and rich, mostly with fruit notes and some spice.
