Spirit of Freedom is a blended whisky produced by J. & A. Mitchell & Co, the owners of Springbank Distillery. The whisky was launched in 2014 to commemorate the 700th Anniversary of the Battle of Bannockburn (1314), where the British army of Edward II was defeated by a smaller army commanded by the King of Scots, Robert the Bruce. The 30 years old blend was composed of 75% malt whisky (from five distilleries, one from each Scotland whisky production regions) and 25% grain whisky from ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks. Spirit of Freedom was a limited edition of 2014 bottles.
