Bottle No. 0685
Strathmill Distillery was founded in 1891 and started releasing single malt whisky as early as 1909.
Since the early 1960s Strathmill has been closely associated with J&B brand and for the next official expression of single malt we had to wait until the 1990s. Currently the distillery is owned by Diageo and working seven days a week produces over 2.5 million liters of spirit per annum. The majority of that still goes into J&B blends with single malt bottlings being very rare. Here we have rather unique bottling from December 2003, part of The Manager’s Dram series. The whisky was selected by the Diageo distillery managers for staff only and not intended for commercial sale. It spent 15 years in refill cask and was bottled ant natural strength of 53.5% abv.
