A unique and limited expression of Yamazaki single malt whisky launched in 2013 to commemorate 90th anniversary of the distillery foundation. It was founded in 1923 by Shinjiro Torii. The plant is located amongst most exceptional scenery in Shimamoto, not far from Kyoto. Yamazaki is a pioneer of Japanese malt whisky. When creating his whisky, Torii was inspired by the traditional Scottish art of distillation. This expression was composed of specially selected spirits that matured for at least 25 years in Spanish ex-sherry casks and charred casks from expensive Japanese Mizunara oak. Yamazaki 25yo enchants with its exceptionally rich flavour palette. The whisky was released in elegant leather and wood boxes, designed by Bill Amberg, himself a connoisseur of Japanese culture and whisky. The artist is one of the most sought after specialists in his area in the world. His studio designed, among others, the interior of the “Eclipse” yacht belonging to Roman Abramovich.
