Cù Bòcan is a lightly peated expression of Tomatin single malt produced from barley malted to specification of 15 ppm. It was introduced in 2013 as permanent edition to the distillery product range. Its name derives from a legendary hellhound that has stalked residents of the village of Tomatin for Centuries. Cù Bòcan is a no age statement whisky, combination of ex-bourbon, ex-sherry and virgin oak casks, bottled without chill-filtration at 46% abv.
Nose: sweet and mildly smoky, oranges, grapefruits, bananas, vanilla, hints of ginger, notes of aniseed and coriander.
Palate: light, malty and smoky, banana bread, honey roasted almonds, ginger, cloves, aniseed and touch of oak.
Finish: medium long, spicy, with lingering smokiness.
