A very special bottling of Ardbeg released on December 10, 2009 for the Ardbeg Committee members in celebration of the organization’s 10th Anniversary. The whisky, aged in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry wood, is a vatting of 10 vintages from 1997 to 2006.
Only 15 000 bottles was released for about 50 000 Committee members. They love to call Rollercoaster a recapitulation of the first decade of the Committee’s activity.
Nose: rich and smoky, malty, sweet peat, vanilla cream, prunes, seaweed, sea salt, freshly ground coffee and delicate lemon-lime notes.
Palate: rich and assertive, citrus, vanilla, roasted barley, freshly smoked fish, and iodine.
Finish: long and powerful, briny, citrus and peat smoke.
